Four BP Bunge branches win award from the Agronomic Institute

Itapagipe (MG), Tropical (GO), Guariroba and Ouroeste, in São Paulo, are among the best in variety participation

BP Bunge Bioenergia, one of the largestsugarcane processors in Brazil, was featured in the Mais IAC Award, referring to the 2022/23 harvest, which took place this Tuesday (28), in Ribeirão Preto (SP), duringmeeting with members of Procana IAC. It is the first time that the Agronomic Institute (IAC) holds this award, which recognizes companies that have a greater share of IAC varieties in their sugarcane fields.

Based on this criterion, the Itapagipe unit, in Minas Gerais, won in the “Minas Gerais/Espírito Santo” region. The São Paulo Ouroeste and Guariroba branches won, respectively, in the “Araçatuba” and “São José do Rio Preto” regions. And, in Goiás, the award went to Tropical.

“The adoption of the best sugarcane varieties is crucial for the good performance of the sugarcane fields. Receiving the award from one of the most respected technical institutes in the market reinforces how committed we are to achieving quality and greater productivity in our plants”, says Rogério Bremm, Agricultural Director at BP Bunge Bioenergia.

Founded in 1887, the Agronomic Institute, headquartered in Campinas, is a research agency of the São Paulo Agency for Agribusiness Technology, of the Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo, and acts in cooperation for food safety and competitiveness of products in the internal and external markets.
